2020 in the rearview:
Musical highlights from the year of Corona
It was a rough year for musicians--especially hambone musicians like us, musicians who thrive on audience attention, even if the audience is just one person. Still, we persisted! (Our motto is: patience, persistence and practice--all of which were hard to accomplish this year). You might have seen us busking with our friend Paul Harvey at Cascades Park, an every-Sunday event, or putting on virtual shows like our Hot Tamale Kid Stuff for Leon County Library (click here: Hot Tamale Kid Stuff !) or a virtual program for the Friends of Wakulla Springs.
WAKULLA SPRINGS: To prepare for our virtual program for Wakulla Springs, we did a new production of our old song "Wakulla Green." This video showcases fine nature photography from some excellent local photographers:

CORONA: The main subject of the year--aside from wondering what your favorite neo-Vaudeville kazoo-toting duo was up to--was the virus that has kept all of us apart, except as faces on a screen. Musicians deal with what life brings through song. Here is our song called simply, Corona.

SOLO: Hot Tamale was so observant of social distancing that each of us did a solo act at the Downtown Market. Here is an excerpt from Adrian's show, followed by a little Christmas music from our holiday shows at LeMoyne (we didn't breathe on anyone, honest).
Here's a sample from Adrian's solo gig, "Mama's Gonna Tell You"

AIRPLAY: We also got airplay several times on “Folk and Stuff,” our favorite radio program broadcasting out of Dumfries, Scotland on Alive 107. Click here to hear Hugh Taylor introduce the world radio premier of two new Hot Tamale songs: Two Songs )

THE HOT TAMALE TRIO: Our friend Paul Harvey teamed up with us to form the Hot Tamale Trio--and we make a joyful acoustic noise every Sunday at Cascades from three to five on the big stage. We stand far apart, get nowhere near our ambling, transient audience and sing and play our hearts out! Amble by sometime, or sit in one of the 1,000 seats. We promise to knock ourselves out playing for you!
